This West Texas ranch, aided by natural grassy landscapes and thick brush is feral hog country. In the late 1990's hogs began to migrate to this region and now can be found throughout the ranch. Ernie can make this night time activity an adventure. This trip is a night hunt and may last for hours. You will drive to different locations on the ranch searching for the elusive animals. Be prepared to trek through the pastures and capture the hogs. Use of baited traps and baited locations increases the chances of seeing a hog.
Hogs from the deer blind: This is not an unusual sight. It is also the easiest way to kill a hog. Tracking the hogs with dogs is dangerous for you and the dogs.
We take all precautions to protect our dogs from harm. Therefore, hunting with dogs is only available when the dogs are fully trained.
As with all animals, through the years some of our dogs have died. Time is necessary to train a new dog to search out a hog. Hog hunting will only be available at Ernie's discretion.
Please check with Ernie (guide) as to what type of weapon may be used.
HOG HUNTING
Our dogs are personally trained by Ernie and his family. The kind and number vary and their experience varies.
