The LeGrand Ranch Family

The owners of the LeGrand Headwaters Ranch wish to welcome you and invite you to visit this west Texas ranch and see the beauty of the land.  We strive to do the most to care for the animals, lands and structures. We are a diverse family from locations throughout the state of Texas.  We live in San Angelo, Midland, Lubbock, Ft. Worth and Austin, Texas.  We are varied in our careers but maintain a pride in this family ranching operation.   The ranch has been in this family since 1994, and lands have been added since the initial purchase.  Our desire is to maintain the entire ranch, over 22 sections, for generations to come.  The grandchildren are developing a love of the land and an enthusiastic love of activities on the ranch.  Ernie and Kodie Kaiser (Ranch Manager) live on the ranch with their two children, Brook and Wade.  Always willing to help, the entire family takes pride in this hunting operation and family cattle ranch. 

The original ranch was leased for cattle, and recreational hunting was for family and friends. Having outgrown the "Little White House" built around 1900, the Roost II Bunkhouse was built on the south side of the ranch for the growing family.   In 2008, after doubling the size of the ranch, a commercial hunting operation was initiated.  Bob was still practicing medicine at the time and therefore Jean Ann started the business and created LHR Adventures LLC.  She created the website, handled the paperwork, built a lodge in 2012 on the north side of the ranch, and working with Ernie, initiated a Managed Lands Deer program with the Texas Parks and Wildlife. Soon, the deer counts and the hunting program began.  She and Ernie worked gradually to increase the business.  Clients began to arrive, along with Mossy Oak as the first corporate client.  Bob retired, the family took over the cattle operation, and now some of the children are actively  involved in the business.  

We offer quality lodging at the Headwaters Lodge, as well as the East House near the lodge.  Working with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, our goal is to offer quality hunts, plentiful deer, fine lodging, expert guiding, and loads of fun for individuals as well as families.  We limit the number of hunts each year as to not over harvest the deer herd.
